OMARI HARDWICK, JOHN ORTIZ, AND MOLLY PARKER JOIN HALLE BERRY IN MATT CHARMAN’S “THE MOTHERSHIP”

Netflix, MRC Film and Automatik Partner

• Cast: Omari Hardwick (Army of the Dead, Power), John Ortiz (Silver Linings Playbook) and Molly Parker (Pieces of a Woman)  join previously announced Halle Berry.
• Netflix, MRC Film, and Automatik have partnered on The Mothership from Matt Charman. Halle Berry is set to headline the film.

• Logline: A sci-fi adventure that follows Sara Morse (Halle Berry) one year since her husband mysteriously vanished from their rural farm. When she discovers a strange, extraterrestrial object underneath their home, Sara and her kids embark on a race to find their husband, father and most importantly – the truth.
  • This will be Matt Charman’s directorial feature debut. 
  • Charman was nominated for an Academy Award for his Bridge of Spies screenplay with Joel and Ethan Cohen, a film directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks
• Netflix and Automatik recently collaborated on the sci-fi action film Outside the Wire, starring Anthony Mackie and Damson Idris, which was released earlier this year. Automatik has been prolific in the sci-fi space; the production company is currently in post production on Speck and Gordon’s Distant for Amblin Entertainment, starring Anthony Ramos and Naomi Scott, as well as Michael Pearce’s Invasion for Amazon Studios starring Riz Ahmed and Octavia Spencer.
