67th Grammys: ‘The Greatest Night in Pop’ Nominated for Best Music Film

Netflix’s documentary The Greatest Night in Pop has been nominated for Best Music Film at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, which will take place on February 2, 2025, in Los Angeles.

Directed by Bao Nguyen, the film revisits the legendary 1985 recording session of “We Are the World,” bringing together stars like Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Tina Turner, and Bruce Springsteen. It premiered at Sundance in January 2024 before streaming on Netflix later that month.
The documentary has been praised for capturing the challenges and triumphs of uniting dozens of major artists for a single humanitarian anthem. In addition to its Grammy nod, it was also recognized with three Emmy nominations earlier in 2024.

The Greatest Night in Pop will compete against films about Jon Batiste, June Carter Cash, Run-DMC, and Steven Van Zandt.
